Trinity Food Ministry
For more than 30 years Trinity Episcopal Church has been
ministering to the poor in the Central West End of St. Louis by
providing a hot lunch every Sunday as well as a weekday food
pantry.
·
The Food Pantry, open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
afternoons from 1:30 to 3:00, offers fresh produce, eggs,
margarine, bread, and canned and packaged food for approximately
400 each month.
·
The Hot Lunch Ministry provides a hot meal to approximately
75 men, women and children each Sunday. Other churches in the
neighborhood as well as in the Diocese of Missouri assist
Trinity in this ministry.
·
The Food Ministry is staffed by volunteers who greet clients
and bag groceries for the food pantry. Volunteers prepare and
serve the hot lunch on Sundays.
HOW
CAN I BE INVOLVED IN
THIS MINISTRY?
·
Churches, youth groups and school classes regularly hold
food drives for contributions of canned and packaged food. The
need continues throughout the year but is greatest, and supply
scarcest, at the holiday season.
·
Churches include the Trinity Food Ministry in their budget
and donate funds for the purchase of food.
·
Volunteers are always welcome to assist with the weekday
food pantry or the Sunday hot lunch.
·
Opportunities are available for special one-time
ministries/learning experiences for youth groups.
